There's a wonder in the way we're always free
To change the world by changing how we see.

"It takes but one positive thought, when given a chance to survive and thrive, to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts." - Alexander Lockhart

I was listening to Sarah McLaughlin in my car and a line stuck in my head: "No Strength to Squander." How is it that when we are faced with difficult times we retreat, as if somehow becoming a hermit will save us from the pervading challenges and fear? I have witnessed how personal challenge is the norm today, not the once in a lifetime or annual event. Now the line, no strength to squander serves as a reminder that we might need that extra strength, just to survive.

I challenge you to consider what might be another perspective. Perhaps, instead of retreat, we are reminded that in order to thrive, we must not squander our resources, energy and thinking on such paradigms of fear and survivalist thinking. Instead, we must build our internal resources to be the faithful to our own paradigms of strength, vision, and positive growth. We have no strength to squander on negativity. We only have strength for those attitudes that accelerate our own process. If you must retreat, do so with the action of rebuilding your energies to create a more awe aspiring life. Resolve the challenges in your life and get moving on your dreams, passions and livelihood. The world will not change into a more positive direction until more people are moving forward in the same intention.

In the upcoming months, see the political process and global challenges as a way to enter into agreements that you choose. The future is not already prescribed. We can choose to offer our strength in prayer, positive intentioning, visualization, and action. We can use our strength as a resource of our own choosing. For one day, commit your strength to live prosperously, think powerfully and be accountable to the integrity of your beliefs. And act in accordance with these higher ideals.

Both the hummingbird and the vulture fly over our nation's deserts. All vultures see is rotting meat, because that is what they look for. They thrive on that diet.

But hummingbirds ignore the smelly flesh of dead animals. Instead, they look for the colorful blossoms of desert plants.

The vultures live on what was. They live on the past. They fill themselves with what is dead and gone. But hummingbirds live on what is. They seek new life. They fill themselves with freshness and life.

Each bird finds what it is looking for. We all do.

LIGHTEN UP! Do You Have The Time?

Some Americans were traveling through Mexico when one of them saw a man
on the ground having a siesta. "Excuse me, sir," the American said. "Do
you know the time?"

The Mexican looked at the American. The he reached over and held the
donkey's balls and appeared to weigh them in his hand.

"Ten after two," he said, at last.

"My word!" said the American. He caught up to his tour group and
insisted some of the others return with him. "You've never seen anything
like this!" he promised.

The group went back with him. Again he asked for the time. Again the guy
reached for the donkey's balls. Again, he seemed to be weighing them as
he moved them to and fro. Finally, he announced, "Twenty-one minutes
past two."

The others were amazed. They went on their way, but the original
discoverer of the miracle time-teller remained. He leaned over,
"Listen," he confided, "I'll give you twenty dollars if you show me how
you do that."

The Mexican thought for a moment and then nodded. Pocketing the
twenty-dollar bill, he beckoned for the American to kneel down where he
was. Then he took the donkey's balls and gently moved them to the side
out of the way, and said, "Do you see that clock over there?"
Special thanks to my friend Dave. How's retirement these days?

Failure is always a safe, familiar, no-risk refuge, a known experience it focuses on new of testing responsibilities upon one. Success, on the other hand, is unknown territory and a high-risk business; the very lifestyle it imposes is full of relentless demands for even better performances and achievements. Anon
