INSIDE: COACHES NOTES

I have had a very fun (and sometimes painful) time looking at myself clearly, as I often encourage my clients to do. The past several weeks have especially been filled with an incredibly rich time, where the quietness of the full moon radiated iridescent light on the deeper emotions, that seem to always lie deeply below the surface. These emotions manage to hide, revealing themselves under times of stress or distress. Their exposure brings the awareness that they are in fact alive and breathing, like the winter's breath on sub-zero air. The emotions are cold and revealing in the midst of very amazing moments of revelation. Then we were brisked into the fullness of the holidays, which brought an interesting mix of pleasure and pain, sadness and relief. Somehow the Christ in Christmas was not the same for me this year, as I grappled with the internal and external changes that were moving through my life, and moving me, without my consent. I, in return responded by surrender, knowing I am but a small piece of the greater puzzle that somehow requires that I be here at this time for some greater purpose. And yet this purpose remains unseen, somewhat elusive and invisible.

I have come to discover that life is full of amazing parodies, that play in sync, even when it appears that nothing is moving, as I would have chosen. We all have these places where the comic resides to show us our own silly nature that reveals both the innocent child and the reluctant adult. We come face to face with our own actions and inactions and how these may or may not reflect the truth of what we would have our life expression be, when it is all said and done. Sometimes we even realize that in the ordinary, there is nothing but the unordinary. Nothing, and everything exists all at once and we finally realize for the umpteenth time that we are fully at choice, for everything. We are responsible for the many decisions, actions and inactions that we will embrace, or walk away from.

Then we entered this brilliant new age, this somehow transparent new millennium. The year was marked with iridescent changes that radiated a new way of being that was not fully developed, but remained alive within in me. These changes have been deep, cellular changes that have made a profound difference for me personally. I have sat on the mountain top and embraced whatever may be. I have made peace with parts of my life that required my own forgiveness of self and others. I have reached a place where, hopefully, I can be more radiant in the creative life expression that I have chosen for myself. I honor, respect and celebrate this amazing world that is filled with exceptional people, expressing exceptional paths. And foremost, I think I have gained a level of humility that anything is a possibility and no matter how awe inspiring and difficult it may appear, there is real change that occurs daily and we only need to step away from our old paradigms to reach out and embrace ourselves in new and more radiant ways.

So, in this new millennium and year: Forgive. Celebrate the greatness of yourself. Determine your path and be courageous enough to be clear and follow it, no matter how others may see or understand you, for they too have their own greatness to realize and express. And foremost, be open to the amazing abundance that is available in many forms and creations. There is so much to be grateful for and there is much to do, so let's all step forward and embrace the challenges, and opportunities that are for each of us to express in our own unique expression.

Love & Life,

Becky

Teachable Moments

On a more practical note, here is some technology advice that will save you and others around you a lot of needless suffering!

1. Big companies don't do business via chain letters. Bill Gates is not giving you $1000, and Disney is not giving you a free vacation. There is no baby food company issuing class-action checks. Procter and Gamble is not part of a satanic cult or scheme, and its logo is not satanic. MTV will not give you backstage passes if you forward something to the most people. You can relax; there is no need to pass it on "just in case it's true". Furthermore, just because someone said in a message, four generations back, that "we checked it out and it's legit", does not actually make it true.

2. There is no kidney theft ring in New Orleans. No one is waking up in a bathtub full of ice, even if a friend of a friend swears it happened to their cousin. If you are hell-bent on believing the kidney-theft ring stories, see And I quote: "The National Kidney Foundation has repeatedly issued requests for actual victims of organ thieves to come forward and tell their stories. None have." That's "none" as in "zero". Not even your friend's cousin.

3. Neiman Marcus doesn't really sell a $200 cookie recipe. And even if they do, we all have it. And even if you don't, you can get a copy at: Then, if you make the recipe, decide the cookies are that awesome, feel free to pass the recipe on.

4. If the latest NASA rocket disaster(s) DID contain plutonium that went to particulate over the eastern seaboard, do you REALLY think this information would reach the public via an AOL chain letter?

5. There is no "Good Times" virus. In fact, you should never, ever, ever forward any email containing any virus warning unless you first confirm that an actual site of an actual company that actually deals with viruses. Try: . And even then, don't forward it. We don't care. And you cannot get a virus from a flashing IM or email, you have to download....ya know, like, a FILE!

6. There is no gang initiation plot to murder any motorist who flashes headlights at another car driving at night without lights.

7. If you're using Outlook, IE, or Netscape to write email, turn off the "HTML encoding." Those of us on Unix shells can't read it, and don't care enough to save the attachment and then view it with a web browser since you're probably forwarding us a copy of the Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe anyway.

8. If you still absolutely MUST forward that 10th-generation message from a friend, at least have the decency to trim the eight miles of headers showing everyone else who's received it over the last 6 months. It sure wouldn't hurt to get rid of all the <">" that begins each line either. Besides, if it has gone around that many times we've probably already seen it.

9. Craig Shergold (or Sherwood, or Sherman, etc.) in England is not dying of cancer or anything else at this time and would like everyone to stop sending him their business cards. He apparently is no longer a "little boy" either.

10. The "Make a Wish" foundation is a real organization doing fine work, but they have had to establish a special toll free hot line in response to the large number of Internet hoaxes using their good name and reputation. It is distracting them from the important work they do.

11. If you are one of those insufferable idiots who forwards anything that "promises" something bad will happen if you "don't," then something bad will happen to you if I ever meet you in a dark alley.

12. Women really are suffering in Afghanistan, and PBS and NEA funding are still vulnerable to attack (although not at the present time) but forwarding an e-mail won't help either cause in the least. If you want to help, contact your local legislative representative, or get in touch with Amnesty International or the Red Cross. As a general rule, e-mail "signatures" are easily faked and mean nothing to anyone with any power to do anything about whatever the competition is complaining about.

P.S.: There is no bill pending before Congress that will allow long distance companies to charge you for using the Internet.

Bottom Line... composing e-mail or posting something on the Net is as easy as writing on the walls of a public restroom. Don't automatically believe it until it's proven false... ASSUME it's false, unless there is proof that it's true.

Now forward this to everyone you know or the program I just put on your hard drive while you read this E-mail will open up your CD-ROM and reach out and slap you upside the head!

This special message was sent to me by a colleague and friend Glenda Martin. Thank you for reminding us all of the idiosyncrasies of our own technology and miscommunications!

Lighten Up!

"My life is a smorgasbord of possibilities. I can choose anything I want on my plate. If after taking a bite, I don't like it, I do not have to eat any more. However, if I take a bite of something which is the most delicious, scrumptious thing I have ever tried, I can go back for more. Anything and everything is possible!"

~ Special thanks to Coach Ann Williamson, DR. for continuing to send me humor and thoughts of inspiration.

Failure is always a safe, familiar, no-risk refuge, a known experience it focuses on new of testing responsibilities upon one. Success, on the other hand, is unknown territory and a high-risk business; the very life-style it imposes is full of relentless demands for even better performances and achievements. Anon
